After yet another mind boggling loss I think the Chargers must looking to hire an exorcist.

The Patriots lost a second game, which now puts the Ravens as the top-seed in the AFC. New England's offense looked awful; after Houston double-teamed Edelman, no one else could get open.

Gronk now can't return, as it past 11/30. Unless Robert Kraft changes his mind on Antonio Brown - looks like New England's historic Super Bowl run is likely over.

Panthers have fired Ron Rivera. He finishes with a 76-63 record, two-time NFL Coach of the Year and one Super Bowl appearance. Sorry it had to end this way but I think it's time for a change. Will be interesting to see what happens to General Manager Marty Hurney and Cam Newton this offseason.

I suspect you may be right about change, and a fan knows better than a non-fan. It seemed like Rivera had to win a championship with a Cam Newton-centric team, and given that limitation, he did a helluva job. I was skeptical that he'd be any good when he first started out, but he fielded good defenses, and got results, and you'll never find someone to say a bad thing about him. Shit, I'm an asshole, and I hate Newton and seeing his Panthers win, and I still can't not like Riverboat Ron.

He'll be working in a minute, consulting for a team before season's end, if he wanted to. Just my $2 (baller)

Black Monday "light:" CLE HC F. Kitchens was let go Sunday night; lol. NYG HC P. Shurmur was let go Monday. JAX HC D. Marrone might be on Tuesday, after meeting with the Owner. DAL HC "the clapper" will likely be let go by the Joneses "at some point."

New WAS HC is ex-CAR HC Ron Rivera. Who grabbed Jack Del Rio out of mothballs to be his DC. Same for the MIA HC; new OC is Chan Gailey?!

---It's hard to win when your O line is a shambles and you can't stop the run consistently...esp when it's Henry running on you. The Pats have been among the leaders in Run D all season, until teams good enough to follow the Ravens' playbook figured out that you can run on NE if you challenge the gaps and the LB blitz packages they use. It's all for naught anyway because NE never stood a chance in the postseason.
---AFA the Titans, the view gets wider as you go up the ladder in the NFL on D. The Titans cannot rely on Big DH as their sole source of offense as they head down the stretch. Brady tried hitting the seams against Tennessee and it worked at times. It would've worked better if Scarnecchia didn't have a whack-a-mole game to deal with on the IRL.
---Nice try, Buffalo. There were times when Josh looked poised and ready, and times when he looked like he was running from the VC. Credit an aggressive rush by the Texan LBs, particularly McKinney and Roby. And let's not forget that elusive guy they call Mr. Watson. He was sacked 7 times. But it was the one sack he got away from that cinched the deal.

The Patriots' loss yesterday ends an eight year streak of appearing in the AFC Championship game, an NFL record. Tom Brady will be an unrestricted free agent and may be elsewhere next season. Could this be end of the Patriots' dynasty after all these years? Is it finally over?

The Pats signed a bunch of free agent WRs, but none of them worked out. And, (R) N. Harry missed most of the season with an injury. Makes you wonder how far the Pats could have gone, if instead they drafted: WAS WR T. McLaurin, SF WR D. Samuel, NYG WR D. Slayton, PIT WR D. Johnson, or OAK WR H. Renfrow - ALL taken AFTER N. Harry!

So who (if anyone) might develop as a sleeper team?
I've been trying to make a case for the Vikings but their schedule looks a bit rough.

If the Rams regress maybe the the Niners or Seahawks?

Revisiting this preseason post just to give myself a little pat on the back.

Phew! The NYG hired ex-NE ST Coach Joe Judge, and NOT "the clapper," the ex-HC from DAL. J. Garrett could be the OC, though; I'd be okay with that.

Carolina has hired Matt Rhule to be their next head coach. Very interesting hire, someone who would not have been on the previous ownership's radar in terms of new coach. I'm optimistic.

Matt Rhule totally reinvigorated TWO college programs. I was hoping the G-Men would get him, but CAR Owner threw boat-loads of cash at him. 7 years, $60M, with the ability to max out at $70M with incentives. Damn!!

He also coached under Tom Coughlin with the Giants as Assistant to Flaherty, but after the SB teams. What Rhule did at Temple was impressive. But his NFL experience is small. How he will respond to the NFL hype in NY will be interesting.

49ers took care of the Vikings 27-10 earlier today.

Titans up 14-0 on the Ravens middle of the second quarter. Hmmmmm?? Is there an upset in the making?

The latest Cleveland sacrifice .. er, Head Coach, has been named. Kevin Stefanski, the Minnesota Vikings Offensive Coordinator. (Still no GM!)

If the Browns need a DC, Romeo Crennel might be available by next season....:D Oh, that's right...he already got sacked there as head coach...:(

Niners should handle Green Bay.

Titans/Chiefs has developed into a pretty interesting matchup. Giving the Chiefs the slight edge.
